Zelgadiss stood in a clearing located far away from where he and the rest of the group had made their camp watching the darkening horizon. The moon had not yet risen, but already he felt its pull and had left the camp to answer that whispered call. He was not looking forward to this evening, he never did, not anymore. He could remember back when he was a child, when the full moon on Beltane called him to the forest only to dance and to celebrate. He had looked forward to these evenings then, they were the only nights where he could truly forget the emptiness and loneliness that filled him the rest of the time. He could put away the serious, sad armour that he wore around him and allow his spirit to be filled with joy. Those evenings had been the most precious thing in his dismal childhood.

But then he had begun to mature, and his response to the moon's call had changed. The bubbling joy that normally filled him
was replaced by a fierce burning desire that he could never truly satisfy by himself. He would wake the next morning with his body unfulfilled despite all his efforts and his loneliness would appear magnified, his isolation enhanced.

He hated this night, thankfully it didn't occur all that often.

The bright rays of the moon were just visible on the horizon now, and Zelgadiss could feel the smouldering embers beginning to light within his body. Sighing, he pulled his cloak quickly off his shoulders and let it slowly drift to the ground. The face of the moon peeked timidly over the tops of the mountains in the distance and he pulled his shirt up over his head, letting it fall on top of his discarded cloak. The moon then quit hiding and began to rise boldly in the sky causing the heat within Zelgadiss' body increase with ever centimeter it moved.

He let his eyes shut slowly as his hands drifted gently over his bare chest, stroking the fire within him as he sought out
the sensitive spots along his stony skin. He was reaching towards the waistband of his pants when he heard a low chuckle from behind him.

"Well, well, so this is what you rushed off to do Zelgadiss-san."

Someone else was in the clearing with him. The fire within Zelgadiss flared brighter suddenly and he turned to find Xellos
watching him with an amused expression.

"You know, if you're fairly quiet, it is possible to do that and still stay at the camp with everyone else."

Zelgadiss didn't bother answering him, instead he let his gaze drift over the mazoku's body, admiring what he saw. Xellos
really was attractive, standing there with a Cheshire grin, the moonlight caressing his dark purple hair. Zelgadiss' hands twitched with the sudden need to do the same and he stepped forward, watching as a curious look passed over Xellos' face.

"Is something wrong Zelgadiss-san? You look strange."

Zelgadiss walked close enough to the mazoku to touch him and ran his hand over the short hair, "So soft," he murmured, "Like
silk."

"Zelgadiss-san, wha-- umph!" Xellos' words were cut off as Zelgadiss pulled the mazoku's mouth down to his own, slipping his
tongue between Xellos' surprised lips immediately. Groaning deeply, he pulled Xellos' body closer, thrilled to feel the slender musculature that was now pressed tightly against him. The flames roared within him as he plundered the mazoku's mouth before tripping him up and coming down on top of him.

The sudden descent freed Xellos' mouth momentarily and he gasped, "Zelgadiss, what the hell are you doing?"

Zelgadiss tried to recapture his prize, but Xellos was twisting delightfully under him now, keeping just outside of his
reach. The chimera sighed, fighting against the flames for a few moments. "You don't want this?" He asked, genuinely confused, he was sure Xellos had been interested.

"Do you want it?" Xellos asked, he sounded somewhat lost. Zelgadiss smiled and stopped trying to reach Xellos mouth, choosing
to run his tongue along the mazoku's neck instead.

"Yes, I thought that much was obvious." He kept up his attention, tracing the line of Xellos' neck up to his earlobe and
catching the soft flesh gently between his teeth, earning a surprised gasp from the mazoku, whose body was now beginning to
reveal his own desires. Zelgadiss chucked and pressed his own arousal against Xellos, moaning at the contact and the rush of heat it sent through his body. "What are you waiting for?" he heard himself whispering harshly.

Xellos chuckled, though it sounded a little strained, "I really don't know, there's no reason for me to be resisting is
there." And with that he pulled Zelgadiss' mouth back to his own, matching the chimera in ferocity. The flames roared in Zelgadiss' ears, he pulled roughly at Xellos' clothing, knowing that he was tearing the fabric but not caring, he was far beyond that now. He was at the mercy of his desire, he needed to quench the flames and he needed to do it now. His pants followed Xellos' and he pressed the mazoku against the ground again.

"You're obviously not in the mood for a dance." Xellos whispered hoarsely as Zelgadiss wet his fingers and slipped them
into the mazoku's body, preparing him.

"I can't," he replied, "I'm burning Xellos."

The mazoku moaned and Zelgadiss brushed his fingers across a sensitive spot inside his body and quit complaining about the
speed they were moving at. Zelgadiss smiled, removing his fingers and replacing them with his hardened shaft, loosing himself in the heat of Xellos' body and the fire that raged through his own. He thrust repeatedly into his mazoku lover, aware only of Xellos' passionate reactions, the sound of his own ragged breathing and the feeling of the fire inside him which suddenly became an inferno, spreading through his entire body, consuming him entirely with a startling intensity that left his lost and feeling as light as ash.

After an eternity lost in the aftermath of the flames, Zelgadiss rolled carefully off of Xellos until he was lying beside
him, pulling the mazoku to him with weak arms. He was fulfilled, he realized with some surprise. He would not wake up tomorrow with frustration, in fact, right now he felt as though he could sleep through tomorrow entirely. He smiled softly, then reached for his cloak, covering them both with it.

"You look pleased Zel-kun." Xellos said in a teasing tone. Zelgadiss was a little surprise at the nickname, but he answered
truthfully,"I am, quite please actually."

"Hmm, enjoy it." Xellos murmured, moving closer to Zelgadiss as they both closed their eyes for sleep. "Tomorrow when
whatever this is wears off, you're going to want to kill me for this."

Zelgadiss fell asleep without answering, there was nothing to say really. After all, Xellos was probably right about that.
