Chapter 9: We're back Saillune!

Once I got back to the camp, I looked around. I couldn't spot Gourry anywhere. I walked over to the tent and noticed it was closed up. I called for Gourry but got no answer. So I opened up the tent slowly but he wasn't inside. I looked over to his bag to find he had taken out some clothes and his towel. I put down my clothes and I sat there for a second but then my eyes shot open.

'He's not here. What if he....if he....went to the waterfall and....oh....no....' I just kept thinking to myself. I jumped up and ran out of the tent. I started pacing around. I couldn't believe that he might have seen what I did back there. I stopped pacing once I heard a noise. I turned around quickly to see Gourry standing there, hair dripping wet.

"Oh, there you are, Gourry." I said with a nervous laugh.

"Good morning, Lina. I didn't see you when you woke up so I thought I'd go clean up before breakfast. I'm staving." He said with a smile on his face. He looked so innocent. I guess he might not have seen me after all.

I sighed. "Well, I guess I better get it started then." I giggled, still slightly nervous.

After breakfast

Breakfast went pretty much like it always does. We fought over who got most of the bacon and eggs and who got the last piece of sausage. I won, of course. After that, we packed up our supplies. He seemed pretty much normal the whole time so the thought slowly disappeared. Then we were on our way.

As we were walking down the road, I would glance over to Gourry once in a while. Sometimes we he just look over at me and smile, which would cause me to blush, while other times he just looked at the ground. He would have an odd look on his face, like he was daydreaming or trying to think or something. Sometimes though, a slight redness would appear on his face. Was he blushing? I tried to think it wasn't but it sure seemed like it. The thought of him seeing me at the waterfall started to come back and I was beginning to believe that it really could have happened. A blush started to appear on my face once again too.

"What's up, Lina?" Gourry asked as I found him staring at my face closely.

I jumped slightly and stopped walking. Gourry backed off a bit. "Oh, it's nothing, Gourry. Let's just keep moving."

Gourry seemed puzzled but I reassured him it was nothing, even though I was lying.

A few more hours had passed and Saillune was slowly coming into view. "Hey, look. We're finally here!" I yelled to Gourry as I ran ahead of him.

"Hey, wait up, Lina." He whined as he tried to catch up.

I soon reached the gate and stopped to wait for Gourry to catch up. I stood there with my hands on my waist.

"Lina...*huff, huff* you could have ran a bit slower *huff, huff*. It's hard to keep up with you sometimes." He said as he stopped in front of me, then slumped to the ground.

"Well, I wouldn't have to if you would keep in shape like I do." I said with a smug look on my face. "Now, get back up so we can go in." I said as I grabbed the front of Gourry's shirt and helped him up.

We walked up to the gate to find there were three guards standing there.

"Halt! No one can enter unless they reside in Saillune or have permission from the royal family."

"Oh really? Well, we'll see about that." I said as I started to barge my way in. They soon jumped in front of me though. "Move it or loose it, pal." I yelled as I was starting to get really angry.

"Hold on, Lina." Gourry said as he tried to hold me back.

"Let me go, Gourry! You let us in! You don't know who you're dealing with." I kept yelling as Gourry continued to struggle with me.

"We're sorry lady, but we are under strict orders right now."

"From who?"

"From the royal family."

"Well, you can tell Phil and Amelia to come down here themselves and let us in then. If not, then I'll just blast my way in/" I replied as I was getting ready to fireball the gate and anyone who was in the way.

"Right.....away.....miss...." One of the guards replied as he shook and ran towards the palace.

"Oooo...I can't wait all day. Gourry, let go of me!" I yelled as I gave one huge pull. Gourry then lost his footing and landed face-first on the ground, losing his grip on me in the process. I then stormed my way past the guards and opened the gate. The guards then caught up to me and grabbed my arms.

"We can't let you in! We'll have no choice but to lock you up."

"Lock me up you say...hmmm..." I said quietly. I then stopped moving and they grabbed onto my arms tighter. Then all of a sudden, I bolted forward and the two guards went flying backwards. I then ran towards the castle. The guards were soon on my trail but I kept going. Gourry was running, slowly behind, rolling his eyes at my performance.

once I got to the palace doors, I pushed them open, only to find more guards on the other side. I sighed but then ran towards the stairs behind them.

"Halt!" was all they would yell as they ran towards me.

"Fireball!" Boom! was all you could hear soon after. I looked back and smiled at them as I saw their burnt clothes and singed faces. I laughed as I continued to run up the stairs.

I soon got to the throne room, which is where I figured Phil and Amelia would be. Sure enough, they were there, and so was the first guard.

"Who is this intruder who dares to enter our kingdom?" Yelled Phil.

"I'll get'im daddy! Justice will always triumph." Boasted Amelia as she charged towards the door.

When she got close enough, I summoned a fireball, causing her to fly back.

"You fiend! How dare you fireball....fire....Lina?" She cut off what she was saying as she realized it was me. "Miss Lina! You're here!" She screamed as she came towards me as full speed. Then she grabbed me into a very tight hug.
"It's been so long, Miss Lina. We've missed you." And she just kept going till I shoved her off so I could breathe. She looked at me and a puzzled look appeared on her face.

"Where's Mister Gourry?"

I looked behind me to see him lumbering into the room.

"There he is." I replied. "Took you long enough to catch up." I smirked.

"I knew he wouldn't be too far from you, Miss Lina. You two are inseparable. It's so romantic."

"What a minute there Amelia....it's...not..." I studdered as I raised my hands in defense.

"It's ok, Miss Lina. We all know." She said as she grinned.

I raised my fist and lowered my head.

"I think it's so sweet how you two travel, all alone together. You two are so cute togeth..." I cut her off as I charged at her with a huge fireball in my hand.

Gourry walked over to Phil and they laughed together as they watched us.
